DEADLINE FOR FULL TEXT SUBMISSION: April 15th, 2010

Guidelines for FULL TEXT to be printed in the NPC BOOK of PROCEEDINGS

In order to participate as an Author to the ”Naples Pain Conference (NPC):”Research & Therapy for Human and Animal Suffering”, the following guidelines must be followed as closely as possible.

All full text presentations will be printed in the Conference proceedings and on the CD-ROM supplement to be made available to all participants upon congress registration. To sustain a consistent appearance, all papers must be prepared according to the following guidelines:

  1. Language: English.
  2. Maximum space allowed is 4 (four) A4 pages.
  3.  Margins for DIN A4 paper: 3 cm top, 2.5 cm bottom, 3 cm left and 2 cm right.
  4. Font: Times New Roman standard UK English spelling.
  5. Title: 12 pt, bold, justified, single-spaced, one blank line after.
  6. Authors: Author Name(s): first name (initials), surname; presenting author underlined; 11 pt, justified, single-spaced, one blank line after.
  7. Affiliation(s): institution or company, department, address; 11 pt, italic, justified, single-spaced, start at left margin for each affiliation identified by dotted alphabetical letters.
  8. Corresponding author e-mail address: 10pt, italic, justified, single-spaced, one blank line after.
  9. Full text: 11 pt, single-spaced, justified, two blank line after. Please use only one space between sentences. Do not indent the first line of a paragraph. Tables and figures, if strictly necessary, should be incorporated into the text and should be sequentially numbered with Arabic numbers.

10. Tables and figures should be referenced in the text (e.g. Figure 1, Table 1). Table title should be placed above each table. Figure description should be placed below the figure. Figures will be printed in black and white and should be readily interpreted without the use of colours.

11. References: references should be numbered in the order in which they are cited in the text and listed in numerical sequence. The Arabic numbers should appear in the text at the appropriate places in square brackets. In the reference list, periodicals, monographs, multi-author books and proceedings should be cited using text 9 pt, single-spaced, justified.
